Safranbolu Turcaí

Safranbolu is a town in the Black Sea region of northern Türkiye. It sits on an old trade route between Europe and the Orient, where Ottoman heritage is still very evident in the old Çarşı district and in the red‑roofed Ottoman houses lining its cobblestone streets. Don’t miss the Cinci Han caravanserai, with excellent rooftop views over the town. Afterwards, you can unwind in the 17th‑century Tarihi Cinci Hamam bathhouse. The Old Town preserves a wealth of historic buildings, including a private museum, mosques, tombs, historic fountains, Turkish baths, caravanserais, a historic clock tower, a sundial, and hundreds of traditional houses and mansions. The area also features ancient settlement mounds, rock‑cut tombs, and historic bridges. The Old Town lies in a deep ravine in a relatively dry area in the rain shadow of the mountains, while the New Town is set on a plateau about two kilometres west of the Old Town.
