About the destination: Lake Iseo, also known as Iseo Lake or Sebino, is the fourth largest lake in Lombardy, Italy, and is fed by the Oglio River. Located in the northern part of the country in the Val Camonica area, it is near the cities of Brescia and Bergamo. The lake is almost equally divided between the Provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. Northern Italy is known for its heavily industrialized towns, and amidst them are several natural lakes. Lake Iseo maintains its natural environment, with lush green mountains surrounding the crystal-clear lake. There are several medieval towns around the lake, the largest being Iseo and Sarnico. A notable tourism sector has emerged. A road has been carved into the side of the mountains to circumnavigate the entire lake. In the middle of the lake are Montisola Island, Loreto Isle, and San Paolo Isle, which together form the Monte Isola municipality. There is easy access via the regularly running lake ferries. The Floating Piers, an art installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, was open to the public at Lake Iseo for 16 days in June and July 2016.

The homes in the city feature overhanging wooden roofs, characteristic of Switzerland, paired with the heavy stone arcades typical of Italy. It is situated on a lake and is surrounded by a semicircle of mountains. Lovere participates in The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy competition, which is organized by an association that oversees small Italian towns with artistic and historical significance. In 2018, Lovere was the only town in Lombardy to rank in the top 20 of Italy's most beautiful towns.
